It contains no essential oils, by design. Most carry cautions for use in pregnancy, and many women become more sensitive to scent in these months — so the blend leaves them out entirely. No essential oils, no fragrance. Suitable for daily use, through every trimester.

The base consists of three cold-pressed oils with a long history across the Mediterranean. Spanish sweet almond, high in oleic and linoleic acids, hydrates deeply and eases the tightness and itch of a growing belly. Moroccan argan — "liquid gold" — is dense with vitamin E and oleic acid, keeping skin supple and its barrier strong. Turkish hazelnut, the lightest of the three, sinks in fast and helps drive the other oils deeper into the skin.

Worked into that base are two extracts more often reserved for facial oils than body care: rosehip seed and pomegranate seed. Both are drawn by CO₂ extraction which yields a purer, more concentrated extract leaving the plant's precious actives intact. Rosehip seed is rich in vitamin A and linoleic acid, tied to skin's strength and recovery. Pomegranate seed is one of nature's only sources of punicic acid: a rare omega-5 fatty acid, valued for its antioxidant strength and its affinity with the skin barrier. Most brands keep these actives for the face. We think your body deserves them too — especially now.

Questions

Asked & answered

Is body oil safe to use during pregnancy?

Plant-based body oils are generally safe in pregnancy. The two things to check are essential oils (several carry cautions in pregnancy) and synthetic fragrance (a common irritant when skin and scent-sensitivity are heightened). Nurture contains neither — it is entirely essential-oil-free and fragrance-free, and suitable for daily use through every trimester.

What should I look for in a pregnancy body oil?

Four things: no synthetic fragrance, no essential oils that carry pregnancy cautions, nutrient-dense plant oils that absorb well, and a short, transparent ingredient list you can actually read. Nurture was formulated to meet all four.

Can I use Nurture in the first trimester?

Yes. Because it is entirely essential-oil-free and fragrance-free, Nurture is suitable from the first weeks of pregnancy through to birth.

Is argan oil safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Argan oil is a nutrient-rich plant oil with no pregnancy contraindications, valued for its vitamin E and fatty acids. It is one of three cold-pressed carrier oils in Nurture.

Is sweet almond oil safe to use on a pregnant belly?

Yes. Sweet almond oil has been used on stretching skin for generations and is well tolerated in pregnancy. It is the base of Nurture, chosen to ease the tightness and itch of a growing belly.

Is rosehip oil safe in pregnancy?

Yes, topically. The caution around vitamin A in pregnancy concerns ingested preformed vitamin A and oral or synthetic retinoids — not the small amount of natural pro-vitamin A in cold-pressed rosehip seed oil applied to the skin, which delivers levels far below dietary safety thresholds. Nurture uses rosehip as a concentrated CO₂ seed extract. As with any product in pregnancy, check with your doctor if you have specific concerns.

Does Nurture prevent stretch marks?

No oil can prevent or remove stretch marks — anyone claiming otherwise is overpromising. What Nurture does is keep skin well-nourished, supple, and comfortable as it stretches, with cold-pressed argan, sweet almond, and hazelnut and concentrated rosehip and pomegranate seed extracts.

Why is Nurture unscented?

Nurture is unscented because many essential oils carry cautions in pregnancy, and many women become more sensitive to scent during these months. Leaving fragrance out entirely means it can be worn daily, without second-guessing.

Where do I apply it, and how often?

Massage a few drops into damp skin after bathing, morning and night, paying particular attention to the belly, hips, and breasts — the areas that change most.

Is Nurture only for pregnancy?

Nurture is formulated for pregnancy, but its fragrance-free plant-oil base suits anyone wanting a pure body treatment. For the months after birth, Rebirth is formulated for postpartum and breastfeeding; for the years beyond, Affirm.
